Always have a watchful eye on the heated print bed connector!

It is annoying when all of a sudden ABS prints mysteriously fail because there is no heat from beneath any more. The connector was about to start burning! So better have a watchful eye on every Trinus' connector that transfers significant current - especially the cheap ones get very hot. Unattended,...

Re: Getting Back Lost Z Axis Build Space

You don't need a CNC mill to drill 3 holes into a block af aluminium, do you? Just copy the holes through the base plate ... which was the reason I did it *this* way: Can't print while Trinus is disassembled 8-)

Getting Back Lost Z Axis Build Space

Hey ... am I the only one still modding the Trinus? Anyway ... over time, through adding of adjustable platform, heated bed, magnetic holder for a Flexplate about 22 mm got lost of my precious build space. This called for another simple but efficient mod: Two Z axis distance pads ;-) ... made of alu...

Flexion Extruder Up And Running :-b

I just took my previous mod - the DSUB15 print head quick connector - to the next level :-) A Flexion Extruder, some stepper motor and fan combined with a simple housing printed from ABS on the Trinus ... a bit of tape here, some additional cuts there ... a piece of 0.3mm aluminium sheet metal under...

Re: Tired of fiddling with all these connectors ...

A need for more pins to connect some bells and whistles ... the most common problem with I/O circuitry design until finally USB was invented 8-) Yes: Trinus' print head uses common ground on both fans and the heater, so we're not short of pins - I calculated a maximum of 5 available. My LEDs on the ...

Re: Tired of fiddling with all these connectors ...

Yep, the connectors to the controller board are of the sort that guarantees some fun after a few disconnect/connect cycles. About schematics ... you don't need one, since it is both the male and female DSUB15 connector put in between. So you're totally free to choose your own scheme. But if you like...

Extruder Lever Replacement

Unfortunately, I got the extruder lever cracked ... which rendered my Trinus completely useless. No proper extrusion any more with this one: http://www.walther-mathieu.de/PICS/Trinus/PA200363_X.JPG So I had to make me a lever myself - the old fashioned way, though, not through 3D printing 8-) http:/...
